Short analysis of the shot on my deer from yesterday: deer was about 7 yards from my tree, shot was pretty much vertical, arrow entry was on the outer half of the backstrap and crossed the body a little bit on exit, most likely severing lots of heart piping and massive hemorrhaging of the lungs. The cool part is seeing the effect of the grizzlystik Maasai single bevel, the broadhead entered perpendicular to the spine but exited pretty much parallel with it, so the broadhead rotated about 90 degrees through the torso. I don’t think I hit any bones or ribs but I didn’t inspect that like I should have. The shot was super steep because she came through super spooky so I wanted to get the shot before she took off and I was higher up in the tree than normal, but it ended like I was hoping it would.

It took me 23 years to draw this tag and I was in the woods for 30 days before I found this bull. My release had broken on a belly craw so it was a miracle I was able to connect with this bull.
