40# Longbow

Just wanted to share a success story.

248 pound Kansas buck at 20 yards with a 40 pound longbow. TDT 400 spine a with an Ashby. Shot him twice off the ground. The first shot zipped through him right behind the shoulder so fast he didn’t realize he was even wounded. He bounced off 20 yards trying to circle me. Hammered him again at 15 yards on the point of the shoulder. Did not break the bone but damaged the shoulder enough to where he could not bear weight on his front leg. The second shot did not pass through but it was buried in the opposite side shoulder. He ran 40 yards before the damage prevented him from running any further.
Although both shots clipped the bottom of the lungs neither would have led to a quick kill. However, the Ashby caused so much carnage that he was unable to run and I was able to close the distance and finish him off with another arrow.

Thanks to Dr. Ashby for the research and a big thanks to GrizzlyStik for some amazing products following that research!
Even after the shoulder busting shot the blades of the broadheads are perfectly intact and fairly sharp.
