Traditional Dandy

"What a way to get the season started off! Here I was just happy to be back in the woods and enjoying nature as the woods woke up around me. Never really expected to be packing my best buck to date out of the woods with me when I left. This guy and another buck that looked almost identical came through around 7 this morning. The lead buck was 10 yards but too much brush to take a shot and as he left he turned and kept a tree between me and him. This guy wasn't far behind. The buck stoped at the same tree, only he was 8 yards and clear of the twigs and branches. Came to full draw, settled into my anchor, picked a spot, and watched as my nock disappeared in that spot. Within 80 yards he was down. I'm still in shock as to what all took place. I've been hunting with a traditional bow for the past 8 years or so. Have taken several does but never a buck with a traditional bow and my biggest one to date is on the ground." - @crutchercreekarchery

For this traditional dandy, Michael was shooting our system of tapered Momentum TDT arrows tipped with an OverKill Samurai 200 grain Single Bevel Broadhead for a total arrow weight of 650 grains.

Biggest Buck to Date!

I shot him at 20 yards broadside. I watched him for about 10 minutes before I shot him. Couldn’t have been a better way[...]
