Herd Bull Success

Herd Bull Archery Success

With one tag left this season I bombed into a deep basin for my OTC elk tag and got it done killing the herd bull and biggest bull I could turn up in the drainage. My biggest bull ever. It’s 9.5 miles one way to this basin and it’s one of the most beautiful basins you can hunt elk in. 1 bugle once I slipped into 80 yards of him and his cows and he turned and defended his herd for the last time and shot him at 35 and again at 55. Two perfect shots. It was a beautiful backcountry hunt and I am very grateful for a season like this. It’s been a busy few weeks and I’m blessed to pull the meat I have off the mountain on some beautiful critters!
