Sight Tape Tips for Heavy Arrows
One question we consistently get from our customers is "Where can I get sight tapes for my heavy arrows?" This question often depends on the type (brand) of sight you are currently shooting.
"Without GrizzlyStik I would not have harvested my 1st Alaskan Yukon Moose. 67-yard shot with 770 grains. I missed a little low, hitting brisket. Arrow went through brisket bone!!!! Stuck out the other side and cut the main artery under the right front leg. Bled out like a heart shot and died in 90 seconds." ~ Blake LaMunyon
Long-time GrizzlyStik customer Blake LaMunyon gives insight into how he builds his tapes for his 650-grain GrizzlyStik system.
"If it’s a helpful tip to pass along….here, it is what I’ve been doing. I take the sight tape from my original sight - and put it on my printer and make multiple copies at 105% 110%, 115%, 120%, etc. etc….
Then I take scissors and cut out the one that matches my marks… and then use scotch tape to stick it my sight… See pics below of my 650 grain sight and my 770 grain sight…
I can actually shoot my 650’s out to 90 yards!!! With my new Mathew Lift 33” and 29 1/2” draw at 70lbs…it’s crazy awesome to shoot that far with that weight. And I can get 75 yards with 770 grains!!
